The Brave Little Turtle

Little Turtle was very shy.

Little Turtle was very shy. He hid inside his shell all day. It was dark in there, but safe.

"Come out and play!" called the frogs. Little Turtle peeked out, just a tiny bit. Then he hid again.

"The flowers are so pretty today!" said the butterfly. Little Turtle peeked out a little more. He saw one yellow flower. It was pretty! But then he hid again.

One day, Little Turtle heard a small voice. "Help! I am stuck!" A baby snail was caught under a leaf.

Little Turtle forgot to be scared. He pushed out of his shell and walked over. He lifted the leaf with his nose. The baby snail was free!

"Thank you!" said the snail. "You are so brave!"

Little Turtle looked around. The sun was warm. The grass was soft. The world was nice!

"Maybe I will stay out a little longer," said Little Turtle. And he did. He stayed out and played all day.
