The Star Blanket

Every night, the stars came out to watch over the sleeping world.

Every night, the stars came out to watch over the sleeping world. They twinkled and glowed.

But tonight, Baby Deer was cold. She shivered under the big dark sky.

The smallest star saw Baby Deer. "I want to help," she said. She flew down a little and glowed extra bright.

Another star joined. Then another. And another. Soon many stars gathered close together.

They made a blanket of starlight! Soft and warm and sparkly. It covered Baby Deer like a cozy quilt.

Baby Deer stopped shivering. She felt warm and safe. The starlight was gentle on her fur.

"Thank you, little stars," whispered Baby Deer.

"Sweet dreams," twinkled the stars. They hummed a quiet lullaby.

Mama Deer found her baby sleeping under the star blanket, smiling in her dreams. She lay down beside her, and the stars made the blanket a little bigger. Room for everyone. Goodnight.
