Tavi's Pocket-Sized Rainstorm

For every little person carrying big weather.

What's inside

A Cloud Comes In Rumble, Splash, Stomp Room for the Weather A Sky With Many Feelings

Ready for Rain

Tavi pulls on rain boots while Papa prepares for their rainy walk.

Rain tapped the windows. Tavi pulled on one boot, then two. “Walk time!” said Papa.

Crash Went the Tower

Tavi stands still as colorful blocks tumble across the playroom.

Tavi reached for the yellow coat. Bump! A tall block tower fell. Crash-clatter-roll. Tavi went very still.

A Cloud in the Room

A small gray cloud drops one raindrop onto Tavi’s curls.

Puff. A small gray cloud appeared over Tavi. One drop landed on a curl. Plip.

Go Away, Cloud

Tavi tries to shoo the small cloud, but it follows across the room.

Tavi waved both hands. “Shoo!” The cloud bobbed left. Tavi moved right. The cloud came too.

Rumble in the Cloud

The gray cloud grows wide as Tavi shouts about the fallen tower.

“I wanted my tower!” Tavi shouted. Rrrrumble. The cloud grew from small to sofa-wide.

Stomp, Stomp, Splash

Tavi stomps one boot in magical rain while Papa clears the scattered blocks.

Tavi stomped one boot. Stomp! Indoor rain splashed the rug. Papa moved the blocks aside and stayed close.

Too Much Weather

Tavi whispers that the windy indoor rain has become too loud.

Wind spun Tavi’s scarf. Rain drummed on toy drums. “Too loud,” Tavi whispered. Papa heard.

Papa Stays Near

Papa sits nearby and waits calmly while Tavi peeks through the rain.

Papa did not chase the cloud. He sat on the rug. “I am here,” he said. Tavi peeked through the rain.

Mad and Sad

Tavi tells Papa about feeling mad and sad as the cloud softens.

Tavi took one step closer. “Mad,” Tavi said. Then, “Sad too.” The cloud rumbled more softly.

Smell the Warm Cocoa

Tavi takes a slow breath while Papa safely holds a warm mug away.

Papa held a warm mug far from Tavi’s hands. “Smell in,” he said. Tavi breathed in slowly. The wind slowed.

Blow the Pinwheel

Tavi blows a paper pinwheel as a blue opening appears in the cloud.

Tavi blew out. Whirrr went the paper pinwheel. The cloud opened one small blue window.

Cuddle, Please

Papa gives Tavi a cuddle while the indoor rain becomes soft.

Tavi lifted both arms. “Cuddle, please.” Papa wrapped Tavi snug. Rain became a soft patter.

A Little Gold Light

A gold sunbeam shines through Tavi’s smaller silver cloud.

The cloud did not vanish. It grew thin and silver. A gold sunbeam slipped through and warmed Tavi’s boots.

Build With Me

Tavi and Papa build a wide block town together beneath the small cloud.

Tavi looked at the blocks. “Build with me?” Papa nodded. They made a wide, low tower together.

Rainbow at the Door

Tavi and Papa step outside beneath rain, sunshine, and a rainbow.

Walk time came again. Outside, rain and sun made a rainbow. Tavi’s little cloud floated beside it.

Weather Can Change

Tavi splashes with Papa beneath a sky holding rain, sunlight, cloud, and rainbow.

Tavi splashed beside Papa. Mad had come. Sad had come. Calm came too. Weather can stay. Weather can change.

Where we looked

This original emotional fantasy uses a magical indoor cloud as a visible story device, not a literal explanation of feelings. Naming emotions, slow breathing, and seeking comfort from a trusted caregiver are gentle co-regulation ideas. The weather causes no damage, and Papa remains present throughout.

The end

All kinds of weather can visit. You can name it, breathe, and ask someone safe to stay near.
