Story

Nila peeked from her warm blanket cave, cheek soft on her pillow. She looked up... and one tiny glow fish curved across the ceiling like a comma of light.

Three little glow fish swam round and round, making a moon of light. Nila lifted one finger and traced the round, round glow from bed.

Tip to tip, the fish turned the glow into a simple star. Nila watched closely, ready to guess the next clue.

From the star, they swam a long ribbon of wavy light, like a calm moon-sea over the ceiling. Nila's eyes followed the gentle wiggle slowly, slowly.

At the end of the waves, the light folded into a tiny paper boat. In its glow, Nila softly remembered sailing under the round moon and the little star.

The fish tucked close and curled into a soft crescent above the bed. Nila smiled, sank deeper into her blanket cave, and drifted toward sleep.
